With roots established in 1952 by Joseph Shaheen, Esq., on April 1, 1985, Michael A.
Jacobs and Steven P. Ross, entered into the
partnership which is now known as
Shaheen, Jacobs & Ross, P.C. ("SJR") Mike and Steve
previously had begun their legal careers in
a "boutique" law firm in Southfield, Michigan,
concentrating in banking, business and
real estate law. Their representation of banks
and businesses continued to evolve
after they began practicing together and was
augmented by Michael J. Thomas joining
the practice. Mike Jacobs passed away, after 17
years of practicing law, on February
27, 1992. After that, Steve Ross and Michael
Thomas continued the firm's expansion. Shaheen, Jacobs & Ross, P.C. has now grown to
include additional attorneys and
support staff servicing its expanded and more
diversified clientele. From the old two
story brick firehouse building on a downtown street
corner of Detroit, where the firm practiced
since 1988, the firm moved, in 2001, to its
larger accommodations in The Ford Building
(Congress and Griswold Streets). SJR
provides its special banking legal services
for such representative lenders as Clarkston
State Bank, Crestmark
Bank, Fifth Third Bank, LaSalle Bank Midwest,
N.A., National City
Bank, ShoreBank, The State Bank, and TCF
National Bank. In addition to its banking
practice, Shaheen, Jacobs & Ross, P.C. takes
great pride in providing both transactional and
litigation services to many other
businesses and individuals in the areas of
business and real estate law. "Financial and
business law" most succinctly describes the focus of our
practice.
